Reviewer Pods help section editors secure qualified reviewers while mentoring the next generation of scholars.

Each pod includes:

• One section editor

• Two additional professionals

• Three student reviewers—one mentored by each professional

Section editors invite two professionals in their field and recruit a student mentor partner for each pod member. Members commit for one year, with the option to continue. Invitations should support broad representation across gender, ethnicity, geography, career background, and other perspectives.

Each section editor will typically manage no more than six manuscripts per year and only one at a time. Assignments rotate among pod members, so each professional–student pair reviews approximately two manuscripts annually.

Reviewer Mentors and Student Reviewers receive recognition on the IJES website, may list the role on their CVs and annual reports, and qualify for the editorial board’s 50% publication discount. Members may also pursue future roles with the journal.
